How to apply for Direct Line Group jobs;
Our application process is the same for almost every role within our call centre, support and automotive teams. However, it’s slightly different for our experienced and specialist roles. Here we’ll walk you through the steps, so that you know what to expect for the role that you’re applying for.
Applying for a call centre job
Step 1: Create an Account – You only need to create this once, after this you can apply for any positions that interest you.
Step 2: CV – You can upload a CV straight away but don’t worry if you don’t have one, you can skip this step by clicking “Next” at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Contact details – Add your contact details so we can get in touch with you for example your name, home address and contact number.
Step 4: Employment history – If you haven’t previously uploaded a CV, you will need to provide us with information about your employment history. If you have entered your CV, you can just skip this section by selecting “Next” at the bottom of the page
Step 5: Application questions – You will need to answer some application questions, which will speed up the screening if you’re successful so please read through and answer these.
Step 6: Review and submit – Have one last look over the information and make sure it is all correct and then Submit and you’re all done.
Step 7: Diversity – Lastly you will be asked to complete a few questions around diversity, these will have no impact on your application but help us to understand how we are doing at recruiting a diverse workforce.

Applying for an experienced, professional or specialist job
Step 1: Online application – No matter which job you’re applying for, completing our online application form is the first thing you need to do. It takes about 10 minutes to complete by uploading your CV and telling us a bit about you. Step 2: Telephone interview – If your application is successful we’ll ask you to book yourself in for a telephone interview with one of our resourcing consultants. The idea is for us to find out more about why you’ve applied for the role, and discover more about you and your experience in relation to the role you’ve applied for. We’ll let you know within 24 hours of this call whether we’d like to progress your application.
Step 3: Online tests – After the telephone interview, depending on the role you’ve applied for, we may ask you to complete online psychometric tests for us. This may be in the form of a personality questionnaire and/or ability test, and will be sent to you by email.
Step 4: Technical interview – This is a chance for you to come in for a face-to-face meeting with one of our managers and talk about your technical knowledge in relation to the role. You can find interview tips and advice here.
Step 5: Assessment centre – Each role in our business requires different competencies and skills, so this step may vary depending on the job you’ve applied for. However, most roles are likely to involve a formal interview and relevant work simulation exercises, such as a group exercise or presentation, to assess your competencies and skills. Step 6: Decision – Within a week of your assessment we’ll be able to let you know whether or not you’ve been successful in applying for a role with us.
Step 7: Feedback – This is your chance to ask for feedback on what you did well on and where you could have improved your performance during the selection process. You can ask for feedback from the recruiter of the role you are applying for.
