Customer Service Consultant

Here at Endsleigh, we’re really proud of our expert reputation and when you join us as a Customer Service Consultant, that’s exactly what you’ll become – a trusted expert.
You’ll spend your time speaking to customers on the phone, sharing your expert knowledge and giving interested customers real reasons to buy. You’ll also be helping our customers, delivering exceptional service and upselling wherever possible. It’s a fast-paced environment, so you’ll be the kind of person who thrives on busy days and converting leads. There’s no cold calling – you will only be dealing with incoming enquiries.
You’ll work a five day, 37.5 hour week (plus opportunity to work overtime), on a shift pattern basis. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and on Sundays 10am to 4pm. You’ll work various shifts across our opening hours.
We’re initially recruiting for these roles on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The hourly rate for the temporary assignment is £7.83, rising to £16,400 per annum if you transition to a permanent role.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, confident and articulate individuals who like talking to people. You don’t need any sales experience or knowledge, as we offer a comprehensive training scheme that will teach you everything you need to know. It’s not a hard sell role and there’s no cold calling, but you will be comfortable with the idea of working in a sales based environment and working towards structured targets. For those that exceed targets there is a bonus scheme in place.
You’ll need to be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with at least 5 GCSE’s at A – C grade (or equivalent on the new grading system), this must include at least a C in both English and Maths.
You will be a great communicator, able to build strong and immediate relationships with customers and colleagues alike. You will be inquisitive and engaging, with the ability to chat to and get on with all sorts of people. You will be committed and reliable, prepared to be accountable and take responsibility. Finally, we have a fantastic, friendly and team-based culture in our Cheltenham office, so we need real team players who love working with others.
This will initially be a temporary position and you will earn an hourly rate of £7.83.
We’ll train you and support you to become an expert so you’ll really understand the ins and outs of every product we provide. It’s an interesting, rewarding role with potential for career progression.
Following the initial temporary assignment (ending in October) there may be an opportunity to transition to a permanent role for those that have proven themselves and wish to do so.
