General Manager

The day starts bright and early at around 7.30am, to ensure the branch is ready for the start of the trading day at 8am.

Leading from the front a GM holds the daily morning meeting to inform and empower their team, and also to motivate them to hit the daily targets ahead.

A GM will look to maintain the highest trade and retail standards, develop talent and maximise our profits at every given opportunity throughout the day, every day! This would include visiting top spending trade customers and local national accounts, as well as making sure that the Branch and Sales Manager are keeping a tight ship back in branch to manage customer expectations. The customer is king, and time is money!

At the end of the trading day the GM will sit down with the team and review the day’s numbers, and discuss customers or issues to focus on the next day.

Branch Manager

As with the rest of the branch management team, the day starts bright and early at around 7.30am to ensure the branch team is ready for the start of the trading day at 8am.

Leading from the front with the GM, a BM takes part in the daily morning meeting to make sure the operations department is fully informed of the day’s targets and any customer issues.

A BM will look to maintain the highest trade and retail standards, develop talent and maximise our profits at every opportunity throughout the day, every day! This includes managing the operations team; a fleet of Drivers, Warehouse Pickers and Warehouse Supervisors. The BM is also responsible for keeping customer accounts under control and overseeing the retail trade counter to support the Click & Collect business and retail footfall. Ensuring also that there is a constant communication maintained within the sales office to ensure that our parts are delivered on time, every time. The customer is king, and time is money!

At the end of the trading day the BM will sit down with the operations team and review any customer issues and how this may affect the sales number for the next day.

Branch Manager – what we expect:

Sales Manager

Same as the General Manager and Branch Manager, the day starts bright and early at around 7.30am to ensure the branch team is ready for the start of the trading day at 8am.

After reviewing the previous day’s trade and updating the month to date figures for the branch the General Manager, Branch Manager and Sales Manager hold a brief team meeting with the Sales Advisors regarding the previous days sales and current branch figures – to highlight any gaps, discuss current promotions that the team can sell on to our customers, talk about any ideas they have for increasing the sales and also highlight any issues that may occur.

The SM will then call any key account customers and take any incoming calls as necessary. A key part of the role also includes keeping an eye on the sales office, making sure that all calls are answered by the Sales Advisors, that they are dealt with swiftly and provide any support to the team as needed. An SM will also continually monitor the customer boards and sales boards, updating the figures every hour so that they can take action if targets fall behind.

The SM looks to maintain the highest sales office standards, develop talent within the sales team and support the team to maximise our profits at every opportunity throughout the day, every day! This would include focusing on top spending trade customers and local national accounts, as well as making sure that the relationship with the Branch Manager and the Operations team are as productive as possible to manage customer expectations. Parts Sales Advisor

The day starts by arriving at branch ready to start between 7.30-8am, depending on the rotational shift pattern.

An SA will have a quick look at the individual target status with the SM or GM, after the morning team meeting which highlights the gaps, discuss current promotions that can be sold into our customers, and talk about any ideas for increasing the sales and also highlight any issues that may occur.

As well as taking incoming calls from customers which is a priority, an SA is also required to do a morning ring around talking to key customers to see what they might need for the coming day, ensuring that at every given opportunity the days promotions are highlighted to customers. An SA also needs to be able to constantly upsell products and is working towards the branch and individual sales targets.

Being in the busy Sales office, it’s really important that a constant dialogue is kept open with the branch Warehouse team and Drivers, to make sure that the right parts go out as quickly as possible. The customer is king, and time is money!
