Sales Assistant

As a Sales Assistant you will:

Driver Trainer

As a Driver Instructor, you will report to the Transportation Manager, but you will also have a strong relationship with the Health and Safety Manager. With group training covering areas such as tachograph violations, safe and fuel-efficient driving, you will work closely to ensure that our transport team is always fully compliant and legal by making new starting inductions. You will have qualifications related to driver training and evaluation such as SAFED, RHA and RTITB. You will work 40 hours a week, predominantly from 7:00 to 4:00 or 20: 00-17: 00, but you will need to be flexible to support night and weekend shifts when and when desired.

As a Driver Trainer your duties will consist of:

  • Developing effective working relationships with both internally and externally, with stakeholders at all levels and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Carrying out driver assessments and re-assessments when necessary for all drivers internally and externally supplied.
  • Producing weekly reports around areas such as training conducted, harsh breaking notices, infringements and accidents.
  • Preparing and designing training materials ensuring they are in line with course requirements and all of the information is up to date with current EU rules and current regulations.
  • Supporting with store risk assessments as and when required
  • Reviewing and amended processes when required

HGV Class 1 Driver

Poundland DC’s are well oiled machines but that’s down to every single one of the colleagues working hard every day to ensure the products get from A to B. You will be in charge of completion of vehicle check sheet prior to departure, reporting any vehicle defect to the Transport Office whilst making sure you are compliant of transport tachograph legislation.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Delivering post to stores.
  • Collection of pallets, cardboard and cages from stores.
  • Collection of stock from suppliers or outbases.
  • Assistance in the offloading of stock at store.
  • Accountability of completion of driver trip sheets on a daily basis.
  • Hourly rate £16 per hour
  • Infringements bonus additional 50 pence per hour
  • £3 per hour weekend premium
  • 15% night premium

Skills Required

  • CLASS 1 C+E UK LICENCE
  • CPC CARD

Cleaner

As a Cleaner you will:

  • Ensure the entire store and surrounding areas are clean and tidy
  • Clean and dust shop floor fixtures and fittings and around till areas
  • Mop floors and vacuum carpets
  • Clean colleague areas such as the kitchen, toilets and staff rooms
  • Mop and tidy staircases
  • Ensure warehouse and yard areas are free from debris and tidy
  • Use cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals, e.g. vacuum cleaner and mop, detergent
  • Completing cleaning schedule paperwork
  • Work as part of the store team to create and maintain a fun and friendly environment
  • Live the company values focussing on taking individual responsibility working towards team delivery

You’ll need to be as flexible as possible in the hours you can work, we may require you to work shifts which include weekends, early mornings and evenings.

Cleaner Requirements:

  • Can work alone without supervision
  • Is reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work
  • Previous cleaning experience desirable
  • Able to follow clear directions
  • Good organisational skills to ensure all duties are complete within the required timeframe
  • An awareness of basic Health and Safety would be advantageous

Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager earns yearly £21,149 per year.

You’ll help your Store Manager to:

– ensure stock is replenished as required
– undertake other ad hoc duties as directed by ASMs and Store Managers.
– Check for fraudulent transactions
– Check credit card transactions have been authorised appropriately
– Manage resource on tills to ensure till queues are minimised
– Ensure stock rotation takes place
– Report any discrepancies to ASM
– Manage daily rota
– Deputise for Assistant Manager as and when required
– Undertake store security
– First line management and resolution of customer complaints – authorise refunds where appropriate
– Open and close store
– Undertake Health and Safety duties – including staff areas

Store Manager

The average salary is £9.92 per hour.
