Process Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an entry level engineer in the Process Engineering Department. We are looking for a high calibre individual who has recently graduated from a relevant engineering or science discipline, to work on high tech nano-technology facility that manufactures read-write recording head for magnetic hard disc drives.

The successful candidate will undergo a training program that covers key aspects of wafer process technology and various metrology techniques, as well as advanced manufacturing systems and process control techniques. Upon completion of the training, the person will work in Vacuum Engineering area to deliver world-leading thin film deposition and etch technology and drive for process capability improvement for recording head manufacturing. We are seeking creative, self-motivated individuals who have demonstrated a strong scientific understanding with practical knowledge, and strong problem solving skills. Candidates with strong software programming and data analytics skill would be an advantage.

Applicants must have at least a 2:2 Honours degree in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science and other related Engineering disciplines. Applications from PhD and Master degree graduates in these fields are particularly encouraged.

Facilities Shift Technician

Reporting to the Technician Manager, this challenging and exciting position gives the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology where you will be responsible for maintaining performance on Facilities equipment and plant.

The key responsibilities of this factory critical role include:

  • Performing planned preventative maintenance to Facilities equipment and plant
  • Keeping the Facilities equipment and plant within critical process parameters.
  • Fault finding and repair of unscheduled down events.
  • Assist with the installation and qualification of new or replacement equipment and plant.
  • Assisting engineering on improvement projects to ensure process capability and reliability of Facilities systems.

Working hours will involve a 12 hour rotating shift pattern (4 days working 7.00am to 7pm, 4 days off, 4 nights working 7.00pm to 7.00am).

Plating Process Engineering Scientist

We currently have a vacancy within the Plating engineering team for a high calibre individual to help deliver leading edge technology and process capability. We seek creative, self-motivated individuals, who demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Chemical Processes with strong problem solving skills, and who are willing to take up the challenge of working in a world class high-tech manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Process Engineering Plating manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for Electroplating processes and will strive to maintain and improve these processes to specific process control requirements.

The successful candidate will follow an extensive training program covering key aspects of Plating chemistry and wafer technology, as well as manufacturing systems and Factory Control techniques.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Working on state-of-the-art Plate tools and processes.
  • Opportunities to optimize and develop Electroplating techniques and generally processing
  • Develop Factory Control systems for a 24×7 production environment.
  • Characterise Electroplating processes to deliver the best recording head performance
  • Characterise interactions between various chemistries and thin film materials.
  • Evaluate new materials for enhanced process improvement or cost improvement.
  • Plan, organise and conduct experiments to optimise processes and production performance.
