At this time of expansion and development within the Medical School, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated administrative assistant to provide administrative support and assistance to the teaching team across the four BSc programmes. In addition to general administrative support for the applied medical sciences teaching team, the post-holder will provide administrative support and assistance with the compilation of programme documentation in accordance with the University’s quality approval regulatory procedures and will play the leading administrative role in applying for Royal Society of Biology and Institute of Biomedical Science accreditation, as well as support renewal of these awards as necessary.

Main Purpose of the Post
The Welsh Institute of Performance Science (WIPS) has been created to increase the research capacity of Sport Wales, with the aim of further enhancing the performance of Wales at the Commonwealth Games and medal capture of Welsh athletes at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Welsh Institute of Performance Science is a three-way partnership between Sport Wales, Wales’s leading academic sport scientists, and relevant industry partners. WIPS is supported by Sport Wales, in collaboration with Swansea University, University of South Wales, Bangor University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Cardiff University. The purpose of WIPS is to conduct performance and medal-focused research that will be implemented with athletes for immediate performance impact.
The role of the Research Assistant is to provide support to Welsh Institute of Performance Science (WIPS) staff, conduct guided research, produce research reports, liaise with external partners and aid Sport Wales practitioners in delivery of content as appropriate. The Research Assistant will be appointed by and report to Professor Liam Kilduff and Dr Camilla Knight.
