Higher Education Advisers

The University of East Anglia is seeking applicants for the position of Higher Education Adviser in the Recruitment and Outreach Department.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the University’s profile in schools and colleges across the UK through a programme of institutional visits, involvement in University events and attendance at higher education fairs. The role will also involve recruitment activity across Europe.

We seek candidates who have an up to date knowledge of university life and the student experience, and who possess excellent organisation, communication and presentation skills. Experience of assisting with student recruitment activities would be an advantage.

An ability to be mobile in order to travel and a willingness to undertake regular travel will be essential requirements for this post.

Research Associate in Nutrition Biochemistry and Genetics

The Department of Nutrition and Preventive Medicine at Norwich Medical School is looking for a Research Associate to work on a BBSRC/EU FAME project grant, involving partners in the UK, Spain and Germany. 
The project research objective is to investigate the association between fatty acid intake, status and metabolism and cardiometabolic heath. As Research Associate, you will use bio-banked samples from ongoing epidemiological studies such as EPIC Potsdam, along with completed intervention studies such as PREDIMED (Spain) and FLAVURS (UK). The Norwich-based research is particularly interested in investigating the impact of common gene variants on fatty acids*health associations.  
You must have a degree in Genetics/ Biomedical Science/ Nutritional Biochemistry, or other relevant discipline, and experience in genetic databases such as SNP or GWAS databases.
