One of the easiest ways to get into ASDA jobs is at the entry level, which starts from part time basis. You can also work on full time basis at the management positions. Hiring requirements may vary depending on the available job positions. When applying, it is important that you need to be of legal age (16 years or above).
Shop Floor Assistant – This is a type of grocery clerk job where you may have to assist customers for their queries. You have to provide them with information related to store policies, product details, services and cash payments. You have to assist the cashier at the cash counter on regular basis. You may have to work minimum of 15 to 30 hours full time or part time basis every week. You have to display your best customer service skills and pleasing personality. At entry level you will be entitled for minimum wage but in later stages you will be paid around 7 to 8 pounds every hour.
Customer Services Assistant – Your main role will be at the store front end and you may be responsible for handling sales and transactions. You may have to assist the customers with store policies and product details. As you may constantly have to interact with the customer so you have to be energetic and friendly. You also need to possess basic mathematical skills for calculating. Your minimum salary may be around 8 pounds for every hour.

You could be the vital ingredient that makes a difference to a customer leaving Asda with a smile and feeling that they can’t wait to return again soon.
Personel Shopper – Like you, our customers expect fresh, high quality products that are readily available on the shop floor. As a Personal Shopper, you are effectively the customer – they have placed their trust in you to pick items that meet their selection criteria. Customer service is extremely important at Asda – it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we deliver warm and friendly service to our customers, always. Every customer expects to receive great service at Asda and subsequently, whenever you’re on the shop floor we expect you to give great service to them – customers are at the heart of our business, without them, we have no business!
Asda will always expect you to:
- Pick products that are readily available on the shop floor to meet customer home order specifications
- To ensure we give our customers a fantastic Asda Home Shopping experience, it is vital that the products you pick are to the standard that both Asda and our customers expect
- If the customer indicated substitutions are acceptable, always apply a substitution to all their unavailable items
- Ensure the ‘Made to Order’ report is passed to the counters and Bakery colleagues as soon as it is available
- Finalise orders and use the checkout process accurately
- Use two carrier bags/maximum or 12 items per tote and pack heavy goods at the bottom of the bag and lighter items on top
- If you work in a store greet customers with a smile & use eye contact, always paying full attention to the customer you are serving
- Look smart by following our dress standards and taking pride in your appearance

Counter Colleague – As a Counter Colleague, you must be available at all times to serve customers. You may be the first colleague a customer has spoken to so it’s vital you understand how important that first impression is.
Pharmacy – In most ASDA stores you may also find Pharmacy inside the store. So if you want to apply for this job position then you may have to meet the eligibility criteria as per UK requirements. You need to be at least 18 years or above of age. It is also important to have necessary certifications from reputable university regarding pharmacy training course. You have to address to customers needs and requirements related to drugs and its possible side effects. Your starting pay scale may be around 40,000 Pounds for one year. For technicians salaries may range from 30 to 40 thousand pounds annually.
Management – You can also apply for any job position at management level. If you are having previous job experience for the same job position then it can be considered as added advantage. You need to be of at least 18 years of age. You may also have to under go drug screening test and other physical examination. Your main job roles may include monitoring sales, tracking payrolls and processing it, looking after customer relations, maintaining employees schedules, training employees and new recruits etc. Night managers can easily draw salary of 20,000 pounds annual while employees may get around 25,000 to 30,000 pounds yearly. If you join as a stores manager then your pay will be around 50,000 pounds yearly.
Customer Delivery Driver – As more people shop on the internet, more Asda Home Shopping vans are out on the road and in the public eye – so it’s vital you drive in a safe, responsible way and deliver with a friendly smile and helpful attitude. You’ll be the ‘face of Asda’, providing a vital service to the community. Our busy online customers will be expecting the same warm and helpful service that they receive in store, taking the time to help the less able and building up a relationship through regular deliveries. Not only that, they also expect you to arrive when you say you will, so you’ll work to tight deadlines to ensure all your deliveries reach the customer on time.

- Driving an Asda Home Shopping van and delivering great service, whether you’re driving or helping to pick orders and load vehicles
- Follow scheduled delivery routes, driving safely and responsibly. Bad driving gives Asda a bad name
- Keeping the customer up to date by phoning ahead if you’re running late to apologise and let the customer know when you’ll be there
- Being friendly and helpful from the moment you arrive
- Following the correct procedures with every delivery – they ensure safety and great service
- Not just keeping your vehicle clean but also tidy and well cared for. Our delivery vehicles can cost up to £40K so our drivers take real care of them
- Keep your vehicle refuelled, maintained and operational, ready for the next delivery run
- Making sure you carefully carry out all checks and procedures from pre-delivery to post-delivery
- Occasionally working in store as required, picking products and fulfilling online orders
